About Me · Communication & Audiovisual Production
The tools change. The purpose remains the same: to communicate better.
Marco Antonio Chile is a communications professional and audiovisual producer with more than 14 years of professional experience in communication, audiovisual production, and digital environments, developing projects in Ecuador, United States, Spain, Peru and others countries in LATAM.
My career has taken me through radio, journalism, institutional communication, television, multimedia production, and digital marketing. Today, I combine that experience with strategy, digital communication, and emerging technologies.
Although the tools have changed, my work remains grounded in the same principle: listening, understanding, and turning ideas or communication challenges into tangible results.
It All Started With a Microphone
My journey in communication began at age 14, when I made my first appearances on a radio program hosted by a family friend.
Until then, I had been interested in medicine. But stepping into a radio studio and discovering its microphones and broadcast controls began to change that direction.
I remained involved in radio and, at age 17, had the opportunity to become one of the hosts of a radio program in Guayaquil.
Around the same time, another curiosity emerged: I wanted to create something more dynamic than the PowerPoint presentations I was using at the time. That search led me to experiment with After Effects and Premiere Pro.
I had discovered another way to tell stories: moving images.
From Radio to Journalism
In 2005, I began studying Social Communication at Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (UTPL)..
While studying, I worked as a Communication and Marketing Assistant on an IDB-MIF / USAID project in the Galápagos Islands, while continuing my involvement in radio.
In 2007, I received a call from journalist Tania Tinoco inviting me to join Ecuavisa’s news correspondent team.
Over the next four years, I worked on journalistic investigations and news coverage, combining reporting, writing, editing, and voice-over work. At the same time, I collaborated with other radio and print media outlets.
Before you communicate, you have to listen, ask questions, and understand.
Communicating When It Truly Matters
Between 2010 and 2016, my work also led me to cover the impact of three major earthquakes: Chile, Japan, and Ecuador.
Those experiences allowed me to see communication from a different perspective.
In critical situations, communicating well is no longer a matter of style. Information needs to be understandable, timely, and useful, and coordination between people and organizations can depend on it.
That is when I understood more clearly that communication is not simply about creating content. It is about making information understandable and actionable.
From Traditional Media to the Digital Environment
In 2011, I moved to Quito and joined the Communications Department of what was then Ecuador’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Aquaculture and Fisheries (MAGAP).
A year later, I joined Red Nuevo Tiempowhere I participated in different communication projects and strengthened my experience in production for television, radio, and multimedia platforms.
Around 2014, another transition began.
As I expanded my training in Film, TV and Video ProductionI began experimenting with YouTube and emerging short-form video platforms such as Vine.
Audiences and formats were changing.
My work had to evolve with them.
Building My Own Path
In 2017, I gradually began transitioning into independent professional work. By the time my chapter at Red Nuevo Tiempo ended in 2018, that transition was already underway.
Professional contacts, colleagues, and networking through digital platforms began connecting me with projects outside Ecuador.
Since then, I have worked on projects involving national and international organizations and brands, including Operation Smile, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Juvo, Xcellensys, and My Best Checkas well as Ecuadorian companies.
This evolution allowed me to move from working primarily within media organizations and institutions to collaborating on projects with different needs, teams, and markets.
Communication, Production & Technology
Today, my work connects several disciplines:
Strategic Communication · Audiovisual Production · Video Marketing · Digital Content · Web Experiences · Applied Artificial Intelligence
I don’t see them as isolated services. They are capabilities I can combine depending on the problem we need to solve.
Artificial intelligence expands those possibilities today, but it does not replace the judgment required to determine when to use it.
The tool comes after the problem.
Not everything needs a video.
Not every company needs to publish more.
Not every solution needs artificial intelligence.
First, we need to know what we want to achieve.
How I Think and Work
I value time, preparation, and the ability to move toward solutions. I prefer to research, learn, and look for answers rather than unnecessarily prolonging a problem.
I also tend to question assumptions, compare information, and look for evidence before reaching a conclusion.
My Work Process
Listen → Understand → Define → Execute → Improve
After all these years, I believe my greatest strength is not mastering any particular piece of software.
It lies in my ability to listen, execute, and adapt in order to turn a confusing idea or challenge into something understandable and tangible.
Tools can be learned. Judgment is built through experience.
Learning Is Also Part of the Work
My education has evolved alongside my profession.
I studied Social Communication from Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja, expanded my training in Film, TV and Video Production at Instituto de Artes Visuales de Quito and earned a degree in Digital Communication from IGAD Universitario in Guayaquil.
Throughout that journey, I have also expanded my knowledge in digital marketing, web technologies, Big Data, copywriting, and artificial intelligence.
It is not about accumulating tools, but about maintaining the ability to learn and adapt without losing judgment.
What Comes Next
Artificial intelligence is transforming communication, marketing, and audiovisual production.
I am interested in understanding that transformation through practice: not as a way to replace experience or thinking, but as an opportunity to expand capabilities, optimize processes, and develop new solutions for companies and organizations
I am not interested in chasing every trend or building visibility for its own sake. I prefer to let the work and its results build that reputation.
Technology changes. The need to communicate well does not.
Let's Talk
I started in front of a microphone when I was 14 years old.
Since then, the media, cameras, platforms, audiences, and tools have changed. My work has evolved with them.
But I am still essentially doing the same thing: listening, understanding, and finding the best way to communicate an idea.
If you have a communication challenge that requires more than just content, let’s talk.
